Union Budget 2025: PM Modi Calls It the Blueprint for a ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047

New Delhi, Feb 1: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has described the Union Budget 2025 as a comprehensive plan to achieve the vision of a “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India) by 2047. Speaking after the budget presentation, he praised its people-centric approach, saying it balances economic growth, job creation, and cultural preservation while ensuring that no citizen is left behind.

“This budget is not just about numbers—it’s about dreams and ambitions. It charts a course for a developed India by placing 140 crore Indians at the center of our development journey,” Modi said. “It’s a force multiplier that will drive investments, expand job opportunities, and lay the groundwork for long-term growth.”

A Vision Rooted in Development and Inclusivity

The Prime Minister stressed that the budget reflects the government’s commitment to holistic growth, with major allocations aimed at modernizing infrastructure, promoting innovation, and improving the welfare of citizens. “We are not just laying the foundation for short-term progress; we are creating a future where prosperity is shared by every Indian,” he said.

Private Sector Entry in Nuclear Energy: A Major Shift

Highlighting a key reform, PM Modi said the decision to open India’s nuclear energy sector to private participation is a “historic” move. “Allowing private players into this sector will drive innovation, speed up the development of civil nuclear energy, and help India meet its growing energy demands in a sustainable manner,” he said.

The initiative aims to address long-term energy needs while contributing to India’s clean energy goals, enhancing its role in the global energy landscape.

Infrastructure as a Catalyst for Growth

PM Modi emphasized that a robust infrastructure push will be a key pillar of India’s growth, with shipbuilding receiving infrastructure status under the new budget. “Shipbuilding is a crucial sector that generates large-scale employment and strengthens our maritime capabilities. This decision will boost domestic production and support our ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ (Self-Reliant India) mission,” he explained.

The budget also allocates significant funds for transport corridors, logistics hubs, and industrial clusters, aiming to make India a major hub for global trade and manufacturing.

Unlocking the Potential of Tourism and Hospitality

Recognizing the economic and cultural significance of tourism, the government has granted infrastructure status to hotels, with plans to build new facilities at 50 major tourist destinations. PM Modi noted that this initiative would create millions of jobs and enhance local economies.

“Tourism connects India’s rich heritage with the global stage. By strengthening the hospitality sector, we are unlocking opportunities for both rural and urban communities,” he said.

Empowering Citizens Through Savings and Growth

The budget also focuses on empowering citizens by encouraging savings and investment. PM Modi highlighted tax benefits and support for small businesses, self-help groups, and rural enterprises as examples of how the budget ensures that more money remains in the hands of the people.

“This budget prioritizes how individuals can build their own prosperity. It puts power in the hands of citizens while simultaneously boosting the economy,” he said.

Blending Development with Heritage Preservation

PM Modi underscored the importance of preserving India’s cultural identity while advancing its infrastructure. He mentioned initiatives like the ‘Gyan Bharatam Mission’ and the ‘National Digital Repository,’ both of which aim to protect India’s cultural heritage and integrate it with modern knowledge systems.

“Our development must always carry our cultural heritage along with it. With these initiatives, we’re ensuring that progress doesn’t come at the cost of our identity,” he remarked.

Steady Steps Toward a Developed India

Concluding his address, PM Modi reiterated that the Union Budget 2025 is more than a financial plan—it is a roadmap for India’s long-term transformation. “This budget is designed to build a prosperous, inclusive, and globally competitive India. Every initiative, from infrastructure to innovation, will contribute to creating the ‘Viksit Bharat’ we envision for 2047,” he said.

The Prime Minister’s remarks reflect the government’s focus on sustainable growth, innovation, and inclusivity. By combining economic reform with cultural preservation, the budget aims to ensure that India’s progress is not only rapid but also rooted in its traditions and values.
