India Leads Global AI Revolution, Redefining Careers and Productivity

New Delhi, Feb 3 : India is at the forefront of a technological revolution, with workplaces across the country embracing Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a key driver of professional development and innovation. A report released on Monday by Emeritus, a global leader in professional education, reveals that 94% of Indian professionals believe that developing AI skills is essential for accelerating their career growth.

The report highlights India’s rapid strides in AI adoption, showcasing the country’s workforce as a global leader in seamlessly integrating AI tools across various industries. The survey, which gathered responses from over 6,000 professionals aged 21-65 in 18 countries, covered sectors including finance, manufacturing, software, IT services, and education.

A remarkable 96% of Indian professionals are already utilizing AI and generative AI tools in their work—far ahead of their counterparts in the US (81%) and the UK (84%). This widespread adoption has driven a significant boost in productivity, with 95% of Indian workers reporting improved efficiency, exceeding the global average.

“As the world witnesses rapid technological change, it is vital for the workforce to adapt and evolve,” said Ashwin Damera, CEO and Co-Founder of Emeritus. “India’s workforce isn’t just adapting—they’re leading the charge, leveraging AI to redefine the future of work. This highlights the country’s resilience, adaptability, and forward-thinking approach.”

Indian professionals view AI as a strategic asset for sustained career success, with 90% recognizing its critical role in safeguarding their future employability. The report also reveals that 94% of Indian workers believe AI skills are essential not only for career advancement but also for opening doors to opportunities across different industries. This figure is notably higher than the global average of 87%.

Machine learning stands out as a key focus area, with Indian professionals twice as likely as their global peers to prioritize it. The top five most sought-after skills include AI development and application, mastery of emerging technologies, effective communication, machine learning, and strategic leadership.

The report further outlines four key trends shaping India’s AI journey: high rates of AI adoption, a strong emphasis on AI and generative AI skills, the transformative impact of AI on workplace productivity, and proactive efforts to address potential challenges, such as job displacement.

India’s proactive embrace of AI reflects a mindset centered on innovation, adaptability, and progress—ensuring that Indian professionals continue to set benchmarks in the global technological landscape.
