New Delhi, Feb 9 :The India-U.S. strategic partnership is set to receive another boost as the U.S. prepares to participate in Aero India 2025, which begins on February 10 in Bengaluru. Highlighting the robust defence ties between the two nations, U.S. Embassy New Delhi’s Chargé d’Affaires Jorgan Andrews emphasized that defence cooperation is a key pillar of this growing relationship.
Leading the U.S. delegation to Aero India 2025, Andrews will be joined by senior officials, including General Kevin Schneider, Commander of U.S. Pacific Air Forces, Brigadier General Patrick Teague, Senior Defense Official at the U.S. Mission in India, and Consul General Chris Hodges from the U.S. Consulate General in Chennai.
“The U.S. is thrilled to participate in Aero India once again and demonstrate the strength of our defence partnership with India,” said Andrews. “Our cooperation in defence, trade, and training is central to the strategic vision we share for regional security and prosperity.”
Aero India 2025 will mark the 15th time the U.S. has taken part in Asia’s leading aerospace and defence exhibition. According to an official statement, the event will showcase a range of cutting-edge U.S. aircraft and technologies, reflecting the shared commitment of India and the U.S. to regional stability, diversified trade, and strategic investment.
Over 25 American defence companies are expected to participate, engaging with Indian counterparts to explore collaborative opportunities and present innovations in Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), fighter aircraft, advanced avionics, and defence electronics.
Since Aero India 2023, India and the U.S. have made significant strides in their defence collaboration. This includes advancements in technology-sharing, expanded trade, and enhanced cooperation in maritime security, cybersecurity, logistics, and counter-terrorism operations.
General Kevin Schneider described Aero India 2025 as a key platform to highlight U.S. defence technology and foster greater interoperability between the two nations. “As our defence trade grows, so does our ability to work together seamlessly through information sharing, joint training, and enabling agreements,” said Schneider. He further noted that the importance of this partnership is underscored by the evolving and complex security environment in the Indo-Pacific region.
Visitors to Aero India 2025 can expect to see prominent U.S. aircraft on display, including the F-16, F-35, KC-135 Stratotanker, and the B-1 bomber. The event will also feature live performances by the U.S. Air Force Band of the Pacific’s 10-member ensemble, Final Approach, with scheduled shows on February 13 and 14 at Aero India and on February 11 at Christ University Auditorium in Bengaluru.
Aero India 2025 is poised to further solidify the India-U.S. defence partnership, demonstrating shared ambitions in security and technological advancement while creating opportunities for long-term collaboration.( With inputs from IANS)
