NEW DELHI: TODAY, Chhattisgarh reaches a significant milestone in its 25-year journey,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi said while inaugurating the new Legislative Assembly in Raipur on November1.
Addressing the event, PM Modi said, “Today, as we dedicate this magnificent and modern Vidhan Sabha building, it is not just a celebration of a building, but a celebration of 25 years of public aspiration, public struggle, and public pride. Today, Chhattisgarh stands at a new pinnacle of its dream. In this glorious moment, I salute the great man whose vision and compassion led to the establishment of this state. That great man is Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee.”
He said, “When Atal ji formed the state of Chhattisgarh in 2000, that decision wasn’t merely administrative. It was a decision to open new avenues for development. It was a decision to recognize the soul of Chhattisgarh. Therefore, today, when Atal ji’s statue has been unveiled along with this grand assembly, the heart says, wherever Atal ji is, look, Atal ji, your dream is coming true.”
He also inaugurated Chhattisgarh’s 25th anniversary celebrations at the Rajat Mahotsav in Nava Raipur, with laying foundation stones for transformative projects worth over Rs 14,260 crore, spanning roads, energy, industry, healthcare, and rural livelihoods.
