RBI tightens policy as inflation climbs

MUMBAI, 8 October The Monetary Policy Committee raised the policy repo rate by 25 basis points to 5.50% on 7 October and changed its stance from neutral to calibrated tightening, according to the MPC resolution. The standing deposit facility goes to 5.25%, the marginal standing facility and Bank Rate to 5.75%. Governor Sanjay Malhotra’s statement…
