₹3.12 Lakh Crore: Reliance Breaches Three Trillion in Revenue on a Record EBITDA

Blitz India Business

Start with the top line. Reliance Industries reported Q1 FY27 revenue from operations of ₹3,11,850 crore, up about 25% year-on-year and past ₹3 lakh crore for the first time, on a record consolidated EBITDA of ₹51,403 crore, up roughly 10% and ahead of Street estimates. Reported after Friday’s close, it is a strong open to earnings season for India’s most valuable listed company.

Now the line that will be misread. Net profit attributable to owners was ₹20,946 crore, down about 22% year-on-year — but the base is the story: Q1 FY26 carried a one-time exceptional gain of ₹8,924 crore from the sale of a listed investment. Against the March quarter, profit was actually up ~23% sequentially (from ₹16,971 crore). Adjusted for the one-off, the underlying trajectory is expansion, not contraction — a distinction that matters for how the whole tape reads the print.

The number that fell is last year’s windfall; the numbers that rose are this year’s business. Revenue past three trillion and a record EBITDA are the signal — the profit optics are the noise.

The segment mix rewards a close read. Jio Platforms grew digital-services revenue about 12% with segment EBITDA up around 16%, ARPU climbing to ₹208.8 and the 5G base past 285 million — the operating momentum a widely anticipated Jio listing will be valued on. O2C rode firmer refining and petrochemical conditions, with segment revenue up sharply on higher volumes and prices. Retail added revenue even as margins stayed thinner, with net profit easing to ₹2,805 crore on a heavier store and digital-commerce investment cycle.

The constructive read for allocators is to value the trajectory, not the single quarter’s optics. A diversified giant compounding revenue across energy, telecom and retail — while investing through the cycle in new energy and digital — is doing exactly what durable, large-cap value creation looks like. As the biggest index weight, Reliance also sets the tone: a record-revenue, record-EBITDA open lifts the earnings-season bar for the heavyweights still to report.
